re: tablets & typing. I think you will be frustrated by tablet keyboards. I have a Transformer Prime + keyboard dock and it is not a good substitute for a laptop or desktop keyboard. It is merely better than the on-screen keyboards. That said, if you do get a 7″ tablet I don’t know if a keyboard made for a 7″ tab will be comfortable enough to type. I’ve played with a bluetooth keyboard, but haven’t done any real typing with one. But if IMO dockable keyboards are much better because they can keep your screen in position while you type without needing a table to prop up the screen. I can carry my Transformer around and type anywhere. Even while lying in bed with the tablet on my knees.
I’ve been thinking about taking just my tablet and leaving behind my laptop for my trip to D*C. I haven’t completely decided yet although I want to find a way to get by with just the tablet.
